Army Surplus Rifles for Deer Hunters

Rifles never interest me, may it be from Army surplus or from any other stuff. But because my maternal uncle, to whom nothing excels than the joy of hunting deer after his retirement from the Army, is a good interpreter and thus have created an anxiety in me to know about the rifles. I had found many facts which would really be interesting for dear hunters. So, I am placing them here, so that my co-bloggers may benefit from them.

All deer hunters may not afford to buy the deer rifles which, generally, are available at one thousand dollars and such hunters can be helped with Army surplus rifles which are available at a good bargain. My uncle says that one can get these military surplus rifles for something even less than three hundred dollars. Here is a very important note for the deer hunters that they, before going for a hunt, should get their rifles checked out by a proficient gunsmith after cleaning it thoroughly.

There is another rifle named SKS rifle, which is available for two hundred dollars and you may get it for something less than that at Army surplus stores, if you are a good bargainer. The rifle is a semi-auto and shoots a 7.62x39 round with it's 30 caliber round which is equipped with power less than a 30-30. There is one more rifle that is most suitable for hunting deer that walks because it is chambered in 8mm and it is none other than the Yugoslav M48. This rifle is cheaper than the SKS rifle and is available for less than one hundred dollars in any reliable Army surplus store.

But if you are not budget conscious and would want to have a good rifle for a deer hunt, then the 30-40 Krag would be the best for you. It is available against four hundred dollars and comes with a side magazine which most people have found to be useful as they have got used it after using the rifle for a minute, even though my uncle says he never felt any craziness about it.

These are the many things which I have learn, from my uncle, about rifles. If you know anything interesting about these rifles, then please share them with me.

Army Surplus: Stepping In the Fashion Mainstream In Terms Of Clothing

My husband has developed a keen liking for Army surplus. May it be his boots, or jackets, or any of his camping elements, they have all been purchased from military surplus stores. He has a personal liking for military clothing and keeps himself attired in them until it becomes impossible for him to go anywhere with them. I don’t know what enjoyment he gets in those but the reasons which he named for being such a great fan of these clothing are worth admiring and I praise his view points.

The first reason which he stated was that the Army surplus is cheaper only in terms of money and not quality. Well, he is absolutely right because two years back, he had purchased a Camo jacket which he is still wearing and it has not been damaged in any way else than the color of the jacket has faded very lightly, which can be known only on close study. But I had purchased the same kind of jacket from one of the commercial stores, almost at triple the price as he had paid at military store, and it didn’t last even for a year.

The second reason which he stated was the high quality of the materials used in the fabrication of the military clothing. I can’t refuse that he is right here too. Of course, I can’t claim that these are made from branded quality materials but their weathering and tearing takes a long time to be caused. So, it is evident that Army surplus is low priced and has good durability. He cited the example of combat trousers, which are the best casuals for him, if he is not in his office. These trousers have tough stitching in the seams and are designed with numerous pockets for storing sundry items.

He cited a third reason to me but I can’t be satisfied with it because it is the same repetition of the first and second reason cited by him. He named it high quality and high value provided by Army surplus products. He didn’t fail in praising the materials and camouflage schemes which are used in military surplus clothing as these are of immense help to birdwatchers, hunters and anyone who wants to blend in with the wilderness in the pursuit.

Army surplus has a great popularity among people for the quality of the materials used in its fabrication. It is certain, you may not always find branded materials in the manufacture of military equipment, but the materials used are more famous materials. As an example, we can take, combat trousers that are generally well-constructed with hard stitching in the seams and fabricated of tough material. In addition they have several pockets to allow storage of varied items.

Online Army Surplus Auction: The Most Easy Way For Getting Army Goods

Only in recent years, the army surplus stores and auctions have risen in popularity through online auctions, even though these have been around for some time now. Being convenient, they allow you to bid on all types of military goods and memorabilia from the privacy of your own home. People who do not have any knowledge regarding where the military items are sold or auctioned off, can definitely rely on these online military surplus auctions for procuring their favorite army goods and products.

Many of you might be curious as to what military items are auctioned off online. You definitely have the wrong idea, if you're only thinking about weapons and munitions. Even though rarely, they are also auctioned off, but at live military surplus auctions rather than at online ones. Military surplus items like camping equipment (tents, sleeping bags), tools, equipment, parts, clothing (mainly jackets and shirts), and even helmets and field gear (compasses, belts, backpacks.) are auctioned off online. But, for getting a new tent for camping or a wicked vintage army shirt then checking out an online military surplus auction would be a good choice for you.

Now, a very probable question arises as why these Army surplus items are now being auctioned off to the general public for a fraction of what the army might have paid for them. There are many reasons for this. The first reason is that the military goods which have been classified as surplus might have become too old or obsolete for our military's current use. The technology advancement may be the second reason for the military surplus auctions. There may be military surplus items modified with advanced technology for better performance or designed with better withstand for extreme colder and hotter temperatures. The military goods and equipments that have been replaced by newer models or that simply no longer meet the military's demanding technology and other specifications may be auctioned off.

You can get information about these online military surplus auctions after making a little research on the internet. Now days, many websites specialize in providing information about these online Army surplus auctions.
